High blood pressure or hypertension is a serious health condition which can be a symptom of other serious conditions or diseases. Hypertension is usually considered when a person has systolic blood pressure over 140 and diastolic blood pressure over 90.
If changes in eating or lifestyle don't help to control and normalize blood pressure, it is necessary to start medical treatment because high blood pressure may be very dangerous for one's health and lead to great risks or be even fatal.
Losartan medicine is prescribed for people with high blood pressure, which needs to be controlled. This medicine is an angiotensin II receptor antagonist. In simple words it connects to the receptors in the blood vessels, causing them to narrow and the blood pressure to increase.
Losartan is a generic name of the medicine. Its trade name is Cozaar.
Losartan helps to control and lower blood pressure and improves blood flow.
The medicine also reduces the risk of stroke in patients with heart disease. One of the purposes of this medicine is – retarding the kidney damaging process in patients with diabetes 2 who suffer from hypertension.
Pregnant women, women who are breast-feeding, patients with known allergic reactions to Losartan must not use this medicine.
Diabetics, who use aliskiren, must not use Losartan.

How to use?
Use Losartan with or without food, regularly, the whole period prescribed for you.

Losartan side effects
This medicine may produce side effects. If you notice them and they bother you, contact your doctor.
In severe cases of side effects, stop using Losartan and call emergency medical help.
Patients with diabetic nephropathy are adjusted 50 mg orally once a day. Then they can take up to 100 mg per day.
Patients who treat hypertension are prescribed 50 mg as an initial dose, then it may be increased up to 100 mg per day.
Lasix (furosemide) is sulfonamide, loop-type diuretic and antihypertensive agent. The medicine does not allow too much salt being absorbed from in the body.
Lasix is designed to treat fluid retention (edema) in patients who have been diagnosed with congestive heart failure, liver disease, or a kidney disease known as nephrotic syndrome. This diuretic is suggested as the primary choice medicine for patients with congestive heart failure.
Lasix is also indicated for people with hypertension. For the treatment of hypertension Lasix is combined with certain antihypertensive meds.
The treatment with this diuretic should be controlled by a doctor. The self-medication may be dangerous for one's health.
Prior to the therapy with Lasix, kidney function should be checked. Besides a patient should tell his/her doctor about the following conditions: enlarged prostate, urination problems, cirrhosis, other liver disease, an electrolyte imbalance, high cholesterol, gout, lupus, diabetes, or an allergy to sulfa drugs.
Lasix in the recommended dose should be taken regularly. A patient should avoid dehydration as Lasix will cause him/her urinate more than usual. Special food supplements containing potassium and taking enough salt are usually recommended with Lasix.
For the treatment of hypertension, Lasix should be used each day of the treatment even if a patient feels better. The symptoms of hypertension are often hidden.
Higher doses of Lasix may cause irreversible hearing loss. Do not exceed the dose of Lasix.
The dosage depends on several factors including the condition being treated, the health state of a person, other drugs he/she uses. The dosage should be discussed with a doctor.
Proper use of the medicine will ensure the lower risk of side effects occurrence. Still the medicine can cause the following more common side effects: stomach upset, diarrhea, rash, dizziness and some others. Serious side effects such as hearing loss, severe pain in the back, weight loss or weight gain, allergic reactions, swelling of the legs or arms, low calcium, low potassium, uneven heart rate, and others should be immediately reported to emergency station.
Some drugs may be affected by Lasix and some drugs may affect Lasix. Ask your doctor for more information about the drugs which should be avoided with Lasix.
Amlodipine is a generic name for the medication known as Norvasc.
It derives from the drug class - calcium channel blockers or CCBs. This medication prevents the transportation of calcium into the coronary arteries and thus averts the contraction of the muscles for which calcium is responsible.
Once the muscle contraction is averted, the arterial muscles get relaxed and dilate coronary arteries and other arteries of the body. This induces the blood flow to the heart and impedes the development of such conditions as angina, artery spasm in patients with coronary artery disease.
Indications: Amlodipine is applied to treat hypertension or angina and other conditions caused by coronary artery disease. It prevents the coronary spasm and severe angina.
Amlodipine is prescribed by a doctor. Before using this medicine it is important to inform your practician or cardiologist if you have congestive heart failure or liver disease.
This medicine must not be used if you know about existing allergy to the main component or the medicine or to any other components in it.

How should I take Amlodipine?

Amlodipine side effects
In rare cases this medicine may lead to serious side effects including severe allergic reactions. A patient should immediately stop using this medicine and get medical help if he/she notices or feels any of the following:
Swelling of the body;
Irregular or pounding heartbeats;
Severe chest pain;
Nausea, sweating, general ill feeling.
Dosing of Amlodipine for hypertension management:

Dosing of Amlodipine for Angina Pectoris treatment:
Usual dose is 5 to 10 mg orally once a day. Still most patients with coronary disease benefit from the dose of 10 mg.
